Live Draft 3

I am really getting the hang of Live.  I like it a lot better than logic.  My timing is still a little of but I believe I can fix that by the time I perform.  I hope you enjoy.

Austin Moody

I had a lot of fun with this.  I really like making my music live with my controller and using my laptop to switch scenes.  I hope you enjoy!

Austin Moody Final Draft 2

So I added another chord and I am trying really hard to get this performance

down.  I do not have rhythm so the live beat making is pretty shaky.

Austin Moody Final Draft 1

So with my final project I am sticking with the club, house, techno type theme.  For some reason thats the only way my brain works with music.  I am going to perform it live with my controller and play some live beats as well.  Hope you enjoy

So this is my “Drill’ experiment.  I tried to create my song like a modern drill song.  So pretty much I tried to embody chief keef while creating this beat.  The rhyme scheme is not really “drill”, I found myself cursing a lot when trying to rap like that so I decided that would be a bad idea.  Props to my rapper friend Young Deezy for putting out the first lyrics.  What helped me most were the logic lessons that taught automation and the lessons that explained how to write in midi and step input midi. Since I do not have to much rhythm this helped me out a lot by slowing it down for me.  I believe that was Logic Lesson 6 and 9.  The Doctherman helped mostly with mixing stuff and mic technique.  Also, class time helped a lot!  As of now my pictures will not upload, but luckily my song did. Enjoy, and do not take it to seriously.

Live Project

For my live project I will try and make a nice, fluid techno song.  I read the tour on live and that helped me a lot with finding out what tools to use.  I will most likely work with the session view since it is not as “live” as the arrangement view.  Creating beats will be tough but I will definitely create midi and draw in a lot of midi.  Audio wise I will be messing with my voice and some pre recorded lyrics from other songs, messing with them to sound cool with my song.  I might have some rap lyrics, but right now im just working on the beat.

The live tour helped me a lot, but I believe I will be getting a lot of tips online about the structure of a techno song.  I like techno but I by no means know how to create a techno song.  I am going to look up and read the main aspects in a techno song and try to replicate them and change it into my own techno song.  I look forward to creating a really cool song that everybody can enjoy.

Austin Logic Draft 2

This project is pretty tough, but I believe I am improving.  For this draft I added a drum kit track that sounds almost like a clap as well as a guitar synth that goes very well.  I am still thinking about lyrics, but I know this will be a rap song. The lessons in class really help me out with logic because its hands on, but the logic lessons online are an extreme help.  Logic lesson 6 really helped me by teaching me how to draw in the sounds.  Logic 7 lesson was also helpful by explaining how to work with the pitch and tempo.  The Dochterman 6 lesson was very helpful with the compression of the instrument.  Without the lessons I would not have been able to create anything.  I know this is very late but honestly I was debating dropping this class, but it is to interesting to drop.

Austin Logic Draft 1

I know this is extremely late, but I thought I was going to drop this class so I did not work on this project.  This is a very rough draft but I think its a good start.  I am not good at making beats or staying in any time of rhythm so this may take me a while.  The logic lessons helped me with how to use the midi in my songs.  Also, class time helped me by watching Professor Snyder make beats.  I know I need to expand on this song, and think of some lyrics.  My next draft will be better!

I’ll be honest I had a pretty tough time on this project.  I have not used any type of music software like this since I was in middle school messing with garage band.  The hardest part for me was finding a beat that I could hear in my head that would go perfectly with my song.  That is why my song is kinda choppy and almost two completely different songs.  I knew there was a way to connect my whole song together but I could not find the beats I was looking for.  Other than that I had a great time creating on and learning from Logic Pro X.  It is a terrific software program; but also a very complicated program. If it was not for the logic lessons’ and lessons in class I would have been doomed.  Logic really helped me with a lot of key elements in my project.  Some important elements were fading, balancing, how to record and proper mic technique.

The Dochtermann was also very helpful and insightful.  It taught me the most important parts of recording, like knowing your instruments and knowing how to set up the studio for the best. Also, Dochtermann stressed a lot about how to arrange and plan things.  I will need to go back and refresh on that because I had an extremely tough time arranging my song.  Other than that I hope you enjoy!
